It has emerged that the appointment of Eugene Arhin as Director of Communications at the Jubilee House, the seat of Government in Accra, has completely turned him against his wife, Gloria Assan Arhin and their three children.
A court document following a petition filed by his estranged wife, made the revelation.
In the document obtained by African Entertainment, the court indicated that “the respondent (Eugene Arhin) shortly after his appointment as the Director of Communications started behaving in very unusual ways towards the Petitioner (wife) and the children and continued on this path until the relationship between the parties deteriorated completely.”
It said “the marriage between the parties has for the past about four (4)years suffered irreparable damage and setbacks and all the efforts by the parties and their families at amicable resolution have all failed.”
The document added that Mr. Arhin has on several occasions unequivocally informed his wife that he is no longer interested in the marriage, adding that he has moved out of the family residence, leaving his wife and children alone.
The document named their children as: Kelsie Arhin (6 years old), Kayla Arhin (4 years old) and Keeon Arhin (1year ten months).
Mr Arhin was an Assistant researcher at the Danquah Institute, a policy think tank based in Accra. He was press secretary to then opposition leader, Mr Akufo-Addo.
He became Communications Director at the Presidency In 2017 following the assumption of power by President Akufo-Addo.
And despite the fact that he and his wife faced sharp financial challenges prior to 2016, he has over the last years greatly amass abundant wealth, as typical of a Ghanaian politician who occupies a political office.
