As the African National Congress (ANC) begins its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, South Africans are heightening their calls for its Secretary General, Elias Sekgobelo “Ace” Magashule, to resign.
The ANC’s NEC meeting is taking place today, Saturday February 13, 2021 and will end on Sunday, February 14, 2021.
ANC is expected to come out with guidelines to deal with its members including Magashule, who are accused of corruption.
The governing party took to Twitter to announce its NEC meeting.

Magashule was charged with corruption in November 2020. He faces 21 charges including kickbacks and fraud, money laundering and corruption.
In November last year, he appeared in court on corruption charges in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
He is one of several individuals facing trials for alleged endemic pilfering of public funds under former President Jacob Zuma who himself has been accused of corruption.
And the #Magashulestepaside has been trending on Twitter today.
South Africans are using the hashtag to drum home their frustrations with widespread corruption in their country.
