A deadly shooting unfolded at an Amazon facility Thursday morning in a west Chicago suburb, authorities said as they continue their search for a suspect.
Just after 9 a.m., police said they received a 911 call about a shooting inside a parking garage with “control access.”
There, authorities say a personal dispute between two individuals turned violent when one of the people was shot. That person was transported in critical condition to Loyola University, but later died during surgery, police said.
At least 60 employees were at the facility at the time of the shooting. No injuries were reported, officials said.
Police said two bullet casings were located at the scene, but the suspect fled and remains at large.
Authorities said investigators and Amazon personnel were reviewing surveillance video to determine the identity of the suspect.
The Melrose Park Police Department, the West Suburban Major Task Force and the Cook County Sheriff’s office are investigating.
