An overnight house fire in Chicago’s West Englewood neighborhood led to “numerous” rescues, with three children in critical condition as officials work to investigate.
Photos and video from the house fire, at 6204 S. Paulina St., showed the aftermath of the blaze, with multiple crews on site. The house appeared to be badly burned, with blackened, charred pieces of wood and broken windows. Children’s toys and games could be seen in the yard of the home.

Six people, including three children, were transported to nearby hospitals, CFD said, all of whom were in critical condition. Further details on their ages were not provided.
About 5:30 a.m., NBC 5’s Lisa Chavarria reported several police officers on the scene taping off the area, with the State Fire Marshal also on scene.
