Confirmed! Ghana To Receive 2.4m Doses Of COVAX Vaccine

Ghana is set to receive 2.4m doses of the COVAX Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible, AE has gathered.

The European Union, frontiers for the initiative made the announcement via Twitter today January 4.

The COVAX Initiative is a plan from the World Health Organization and numerous other international health groups to ensure the rapid and equitable distribution of any eventual vaccine to rich and poor countries alike and the vaccination of high-risk groups.

The initiative is rolling out 330m doses worldwide

The EU’s Ghana delegation wrote in the tweet ““COVAX vaccine rollout is starting! #Ghana will receive 2.4M doses. #TeamEurope is one of the biggest donors to COVAX. Together we can defeat the pandemic. #StrongerTogether.”

President Akufo-Addo in his last address to the nation announced that Ghana will start receiving Covid vaccines by March.
