Delays of up to an hour were expected during the afternoon rush on Wednesday after a crash involving a semi-truck and another vehicle on southbound I-55 near Cicero Avenue in Chicago, authorities said.
Around 2 p.m., a crash occurred involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle on southbound I-55 near Cicero Avenue, Illinois State Police said.
The entrance to southbound I-55 from Cicero Avenue was closed for an investigation, ISP said around 4:30 p.m. Delays were expected due to the crash, according to Total Traffic.
ISP said the ramp re-opened around 5:10 p.m.
Aerial video of the aftermath of the crash captured by NBC Chicago Sky 5 showed crews attempting to move the visibly damaged semi-truck.
Damage to the guard rail on I-55 could also be seen in the video.
