A driver is in custody after he allegedly ran a red light and slammed into another vehicle before his SUV careened into a building on the West Side.
According to Chicago police, the suspect in the case was driving a black SUV northbound in the 5400 block of South Pulaski at approximately 3:30 a.m. when he drove through a red light.
The SUV collided with a pickup truck, and then slammed into the side of a building, according to police.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital in fair condition, and is now facing charges in the case, police said. Three other passengers in the SUV refused treatment at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck also refused treatment, while a passenger in that truck was taken to a hospital in good condition.
No further information on the crash was immediately available.
