“I definitely lost a little sleep the night before.”
Kamala Harris‘ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff turned heads with her style when she stepped out at last month’s Presidential Inauguration and now she’s turning heads at New York Fashion Week!
The 21-year-old Brooklyn-based art student and designer signed with IMG Models just a few weeks ago and she’s already become the star of fashion week presentations.

“I was pretty surprised when everything with IMG was happening because when I was younger, I never saw that as being part of my timeline… As someone who, like a lot of young girls out there, had self-confidence issues, it is intimidating and scary to go into this world that is hyper-focused on you and the body,” Ella previously told The New York Times.
Ella made her debut in Proenza Schouler’s virtual Fall/Winter 2021 show, wearing three incredibly chic looks from the designer, including a leather trench coat paired with a printed turtleneck.
“I definitely lost a little sleep the night before. I mean, I’m walking for the first time, I’m in a professional environment for the first time…It was a very epic first experience with the fashion world,” Ella told designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez after the event.
And not only did Ella walk the runway in the show, but she was also featured in the designer’s short film and lookbook to accompany the new collection.
“thank you thank you thank you @proenzaschouler couldn’t have worked with a better duo <3,” Ella wrote on her Instagram after the show aired.
To top everything off, that same day Ella also launched her own limited edition knitwear collection — which all immediately sold out.
Just another casual day in the life of the Vice President’s stepdaughter!
