Some 18 people have lost their lives in a gory car crash in Ghana.
African Entertainment is informed that the crash occurred at Buipe in the Central Gonja district of the Savannah region.
About 16 of the passengers including 12 men and three women and a girl died on the spot, African Entertainment understands.
Some two other passengers lost their lives while receiving treatment at Holistic Medicare Hospital, raising the death toll to 18.
Additionally, at least 45 passengers who were onboard the two vehicles that were involved in the crash, sustained various degrees of injuries.
The injured passengers were sent to the Buipe Polyclinic and Holistic Medicare Hospital for treatment while the mortal remains of those who died were sent to Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation.
The Savannah Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Adjekum Owusu, has confirmed the crash to the media, saying the crash occurred on Wednesday dawn, February 3, 2021.
He stated that the drivers yet to be identified were in charge of Yutong buses with registration numbers GT 3345-16 and AC 1699-20 with about 45 persons on board each of the vehicles traveling from Kumasi to Zebila and from Garu to Kumasi.
He disclosed that on reaching Sarekyekura near Fufulso on the Buipe – Tamale Highway the two vehicles collided head on.
