
A shooting in Chicago’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood left one man dead and two others with serious injuries on Friday afternoon, police stated.
The shooting was reported before 2 p.m. in the 300 block of West 75th Street.
According to police, multiple unknown offenders exited a sedan and fired shots in the direction of a 31-year-old man. The victim was struck multiple times and rushed to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Two other men were listed in serious condition.
A 40-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the flank, police said. A third victim, a 48-year-old man, was shot in the leg.
Footage captured by NBC Chicago’s Sky 5 helicopter showed a portion of a street blocked off by crime scene tape as law enforcement worked on the scene.
As of Friday night, authorities hadn’t said if any arrests had been made.
Area One detectives were investigating.
