Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams shared his thoughts on the team’s potential move to Indiana during a press conference on Thursday.
When asked about how he’d feel about playing in Indiana at a press conference on the final day of the team’s minicamp at Halas Hall, the “Iceman” sounded like he had warmed up to the idea.
“I’m going to play wherever there’s 120 by 53 and a third and it’s marked up with white lines and two end zones,” Williams said. “I’m OK with whatever.”
Williams’ response comes exactly a week after the Bears board of directors voted to “advance” the team’s new stadium project in Hammond, Indiana.
“Whatever decision they make is whatever decision they make,” Williams said. “I just want some green and my teammates and coaches and another team out there and fans.”
Though the team has not yet officially announced they are definitely moving across state lines, the Indiana Mayor Tom McDermott told NBC Chicago on Tuesday that the Bears are choosing between three potential sites in Hammond to move forward with their new stadium.
Hammond officials are now saying there are at least three different sites the Chicago Bears could use for a new stadium, and Rose Schmidt has more on that story.
McDermott said he hopes the Bears make an announcement as to where the stadium will officially be located within the next few weeks, bringing an end to the team’s months-long stadium saga.
