The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the shortlisted films for nine categories ahead of the 93rd Oscars.
15 films made the shortlist for the International Feature Film category including Ivory Coast and Tunisia’s submissions. Both countries are the only African submissions on the list.
Unfortunately, Nigeria’s much talked about submission ‘The Milkmaid’ only made it to the eligibility stage.
Ivory Coast’s submission ‘Night of Kings’ is directed by Philippe Lacôte while Tunisia’s submission ‘The Man Who Sold His Skin’ is by Kaouther Ben Hania.
