Unconfirmed reports reaching African Entertainment indicate that Ghana’s finance Minister-designate, Ken Ofori-Attta, has died in the US from coronavirus complications.
Mr Ofori-Atta was flown to the US to be treated for Coronavirus complications.
The Finance Ministry of Ghana made his airlifting to the US known in a statement as earlier reported by African Entertainment.
In the statement, the Ministry indicated that Mr Ofori-Atta, who served as Finance Minister from 2017 to 2021, was airlifted on Sunday, February 14, 2021.
The statement indicated that Mr Ofori-Atta was treated for Coronavirus but developed other complications which doctors advised could be treated for now only in the US.
It added that “After recovering from Covid-19 last December, Mr Ofori-Atta has had medical complications which doctors advise, require further interventions not currently available in Ghana.”
But information available to African Entertainment suggests he had died as a result of the complications.
African Entertainment is taking steps to get official confirmation about his rumored death.
