Multiple inbound lanes on the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) are shut down after a crash involving a semi, with traffic backed up in Darien and Lemont for the morning rush hour commute.
NBC 5 traffic reporter Kye Martin reported all three inbound lanes at I-55 at Cass Avenue were closed, with drivers advised to exit at Lemont. Martin added that a semi involved in the crash lost its load, spilling steel coils onto the expressway and delays backed up to Route 53.
As of 7:30 a.m. the lanes remained closed, Martin said, with traffic and delays expected.
