
The man killed in a shooting at a suburban Amazon building was identified by authorities hours after the incident unfolded Thursday morning.
The Cook County Medical Examiner identified 27-year-old Travion R. Taylor was the man who was shot and killed just after 9 a.m. inside a parking garage that is only accessible to employees at an Amazon building located at 1825 5th Ave. in Melrose Park.
Taylor was shot after a personal dispute between him and another man turned violent. Taylor was transported in critical condition to a Loyola University hospital and later died during surgery, authorities said.
Police said two bullet casings were located at the scene, but the suspect fled and remains at large.

Investigators and Amazon personnel are reviewing surveillance video to determine the identity of the suspect, authorities said, including a pod camera that shows two vehicles leaving the garage after the shooting.
At least 60 employees were at the facility at the time of the shooting, though no other injuries were reported.
“This is a senseless tragedy. Our thoughts are with our employee’s family, friends, and our team at our Melrose Park delivery station. Right now, our priority is supporting them. The delivery station has been deemed safe, and we’ve added additional security. We’re supporting police as they investigate and defer to them for further details,” said Lex Evans, an Amazon spokesperson.
A spokesperson for Melrose Park said the incident appears to be isolated.
The Melrose Park Police Department, the West Suburban Major Task Force and the Cook County Sheriff’s office are investigating.
