The widow of a Chicago Bears legend was arrested for domestic battery at a Will County home early Friday morning, authorities said.
Misty McMichael, widow of the late Bears defensive tackle Steve “Mongo” McMichael who passed away in April 2025 after a battle with ALS, was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery.
Around 5:25 a.m., Will County sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in suburban Frankfort on Kuse Road after a 911 call. When deputies arrived, Misty McMichael and an adult man both said they had been drinking and arguing for hours, authorities said.
The man, who was not named by authorities, told the deputies the fight became physical and 55-year-old McMichael choked him. McMichael, however, claimed the argument did not become physical, authorities said.
A witness told deputies the man and McMichael had been arguing for hours before heading a lot of noise and banging. Then, the witness found the two on the kitchen floor, authorities said.
The man’s neck had injuries and scratches, authorities said.
McMichael was arrested, charged and transported to an adult detention facility, authorities said.
No additional information was immediately available.
