A family in North East Tanzania has lost four of its members over a period of 28 days.
According to local Tanzanian media outlet, The Citizen, the deaths started in January 2021.
First to have died, African Entertainment understands, was a professor of the Morogoro-based Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA).
Later, grandparents of the family lost their lives as well, reports say.
According to reports, a member of the family, Anna Mamiro told the press that they lost their grandmother who was known as Fransiska Kyessi on January 13, this year.
Madam Mamiro is reported to have said they lost grandfather Lucas Kyessi three days later in Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro is located in North East Tanzania.
She indicated that her parents Prof Delphina Mamiro who was a lecturer at SUA and Dr Peter Mamiro who retired from the same institution travelled to Moshi for burial.
“After returning to Morogoro and resumed their duties, my mother said she was not feeling well and we took her to the regional hospital for further treatment,” she was quoted by The Citizen to have said.
Accordingly, she reported that on Saturday February 6, 2021, their mother Delphina died.
Reports say when the family was preparing for the funeral and transporting the body to Kilimanjaro Region, their father Peter died at his home at Veta Kihonda area of Morogoro, on the eve of February 9, 2021.
