Nana To Deliver Update Amid Allegations Of Covid-19 Test Results Falsification, Suppression of Virus Figures

Ghanaian President,  Nana Akufo-Addo is expected  to deliver another update on the Coronavirus situation in Ghana.

The Update No. 22 is billed to begin at 8:00pm on Sunday night, January 17, 2021.

Mr Akufo-Addo will during the update outline measures taken so far against the spread of Coronavirus in Ghana.

However, the update is coming at a time reports are suggesting that the Ghanaian government is covering up the true state of Coronavirus in Ghana.

There has been reports that Coronavirus is on the rise in Ghana, with the intensive care units of major hospitals in Accra, the national capital which has been the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, said to be full to capacity with Covid19 patients even though government says the situation in the country is under control.

With students set to resume school across Ghana tomorrow, Monday, January 18, 2021, there are mixed feelings about the safety of students.

    Allegations

As African Entertainment exclusively reported on Saturday, January 16, 2021, a Ghanaian man named Kofi Biney who claimed four of his friends have died from coronavirus has accused the Ghanaian Government of misleading the general public about the true state of covid-19 in Ghana.

Mr. Biney had said the President Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) was deliberately suppressing the coronavirus figures in Ghana, making the nation feel the coronavirus pandemic situation was under control when indeed it was escalating by the day.

Mr Biney made this known openly at the Excel Community School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting held at the school’s playground in Spintex, a suburb of Tema, on Saturday, January 16, 2021.

The meeting which started around 2:30pm and ended at about 5:00pm was aimed at updating parents on the health and safety protocols that have been put in place to ensure the safety of students and teachers as school resumes on Monday, January 18, 2021.

During the question and suggestion time at the meeting, Mr. Biney revealed that he was wearing a black shirt because he was mourning his friends who recently died from coronavirus.

He said his visit to some hospitals in Accra showed that most Intensive Care Units were filled with coronavirus patients.

“All ICUs are full and the politicians are playing politics with Coronavirus,” he stated with grieve, revealing how the figures on active covid-19 Cases and deaths being churned out by Government were less than the reality on the grounds showed.

“Coronavirus is not gone and it is now rising,” Mr. Biney noted as he tried to advise other parents to take good care of their wards to prevent them from contracting coronavirus.

According to Mr. Biney, a medical doctor told him that at least two in every 10 patients that visit some hospitals are covid-19 positive.

    Investigations

There had been earlier reports on social media as well that the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) was falsifying coronavirus test results.

As a result,  the NMIMR is conducting investigations into the allegations about the falsification of the Coronavirus test results.

Director of NMIMR, Prof. Abraham Kwabena Anang, announced this  in a statement obtained by African Entertainment.
