Plenty of people who head to Navy Pier for ice skating each winter will now have a summer option.
An old-fashioned, retro roller rink is set to open at Navy Pier inside the former Crystal Gardens all-glass structure as part of Summer Skate at the Pier.
Visitors will take in stunning sights of Lake Michigan while skating to music from live DJs. Navy Pier described the attraction as a “high-energy, music-forward destination” featuring themed skate nights and arcade-style elements that “create a lively, social atmosphere.”
The experience debuts June 18 and will be open every day through Labor Day.
Tickets are expected to go on sale ahead of the opening, though a specific date for ticket sales hasn’t been announced.
