Nollywood’s actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde opened up about the impact of losing her father when she was 12. According to Omotola, her father’s death felt as if something died inside her.
Omotola recently travelled down memory lane in an interview with YNaija and shared details of the fateful day it happened.
The movie star while answering a question about her late dad’s death said everything she has become both in the negative and positive light all stemmed from that experience.
Omotola went on to describe how she had a beautiful relationship with her dad and how he would take her to the Lagos Country Club where he worked as a manager.
The actress said it was her first experience of rolling with influential people and it eventually became an experience that didn’t mean so much to her.
Unfortunately, Omotola said she was whisked away to boarding school in Kano state at the of 9.
“I remember when he was leaving, we were both crying. And as a child it kind of affected me because I thought he had other kids and I was no longer important to him,”
Omotola recounted. Sharing further, the movie star noted that at the age of 12 she started fantasizing about the idea of spending more time with her dad just like they used to do in the past.
The actress disclosed that on a fateful day, officials from school came to inform her that she had to return home.
A young Omotola said no one told her what happened but she knew it had something to do with death.
“I knew somebody had died, everybody in my school was tiptoeing. I think they told them but didn’t tell me. I knew something was wrong, the only thing I kept saying was I hope it’s not my dad,” Omotola recounted.
