Over 60,000 civil servants to benefit from Zambia Covid-19 relief scheme


 

Some 60,000 civil servants are expected to benefit from the Zambian Government coronavirus relief scheme. 

According to local media reports, the Zambian Government is to stop taking the instalments for workers loans from their salaries over the next three months.

In addition, the government has signed collective bargaining agreements with 15 public service unions to take over loans.

The over 60,000 beneficiaries include persons  who took out loans to buy cars, build homes or pay for education, reports say.
