His death has thrown Britain into a state of mourning.
As a way of mourning him, Britain is taking steps to lower at half-mast flags on its landmark buildings.
Over the few years of his Royal life, the Prince had seen his health deteriorated slowly.
In May 2017, he jokingly said he could no longer stand up as he announced his resignation from Royal duties.
In 2019 before the Christmas holidays, he spent about four nights at the King Edward VII Hospital in London, receiving treatment.
