Undoubtedly, Nigerians are proud of NOI’s history-making appointment. But it seems social media savvy Nigerians, women to be precise, have found a way to collective express how proud with a new challenge.
Dubbed the #BeLikeNgozichallenge, the new challenge has young women share photos of a recreated look of the new DG complete with her signature headgear. The challenge is currently trending on Twitter NG with nearly 60,000 tweets.
Interestingly, the challenge spearheaded by Life Bank CEO Temi Giwa-Tubosun was birthed as a way to show Okonjo-Iweala support ahead of the WTO announcement.
Reacting to the challenge, the new DG tweeted: “Thanks to Temi @temite & all my wonderful sisters who dressed up in Ankara yesterday. Thank you for all your messages of support. I’m delighted & honored to see so many getting the “gele” right.”
