Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak response to Scott Ingwersen was called out by viewers of the show. If you have been watching Wheel of Fortune as long as most, you know that Pat Sajak has a dry humor. However, this time the humor was so dry viewers though it was mean and rude.
When contestant Scott Ingwersen got his turn at the wheel during the Wednesday, March 9, episode of the game show, he told a story about nearly losing his big toe because he wanted to thank the first responders who helped him.
“It’s important to know that when I was 12 years old, I was riding a 10-speed bike with flip-flops, and I fell and completely cut off the top of my toe,” Ingwersen said. “The next car that came by were two paramedics that were on their way to a job, and they said, ‘It’s just a laceration.’ But I didn’t know what that was, so it freaked me out even more. And my toe is reattached, and I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to them 30 years later.”
As most of the audience of the show seemed entertained by the story, Pat Sajak did not hold back on expressing his thoughts of the story.
“That may have been the most pointless story ever told,” the Chicago native said, shaking his head. “And you told it, Scott. Congratulations to you.”
Twitter watchers were taken back by Sajak’s response saying, “is anyone else watching #WheelofFortune??? Pat Sajak is such an asshole who says to someone “that’s the most pointless story ever” when someone is opening up on National TV???”
Another tweet said, “The point of the story is that no one should wear flip flops while riding a Bike. Pat Sajak makes a nice salary being the host. He should be a gracious one. If he no longer has the patience to do his job then it’s time to retire. Find someone grateful for the opportunity.”
Others joked, saying, ““9-1-1, I’d like to report a murder on wheel of fortune” Pat Sajak is a cold blooded killer”
