After over two weeks of competition, the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics will come to an epic close with the Closing Ceremony this weekend.
Set to kick off at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, the Closing Ceremony is sure to put on a dazzling show.
The live coverage of the program will be available NBC, Peacock, NBC Chicago’s streaming channel and NBC Olympics platforms.
An ancient Italian arena in Verona, Arena di Verona, is the setting for the ceremony where some 1,500 athletes from across the globe will come together to celebrate the end of the games.
The grande finale — titled “Beauty in Action” — will celebrate “Italian culture, creativity and the unity of sport, art and beauty” through a reflection on the connection between Italian mountains and cities, according to NBC.
“Beauty cannot be fixed in time. This ancient monument is beautiful if it is alive, if it continues to change,” said the ceremony’s producer, Alfredo Accatino. “This is what we want to narrate: An Italy that is changing, and also the beauty of movement, the beauty of sport and the beauty of nature.”
The Closing Ceremony will follow the gold medal match between U.S. and Canada for men’s ice hockey, set to kick off at 7:10 a.m. CT.
Though competition started before the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics, the Closing Ceremony will mark the true end to the Winter Olympics.
After the final medals of the 2026 Winter Olympics are awarded, the Closing Ceremony is expected to last approximately two and a half hours.
