The Wieners Circle in Chicago is famous for its hot dogs and profane service, and they’re supporting Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong after a high-profile incident at Rate Field.
During Sunday’s game against the White Sox, Crow-Armstrong engaged in a profane exchange with a Sox fan in the outfield, and the moment quickly went viral on social media.
While Crow-Armstrong apologized this week, The Wieners Circle was more supportive.
“PCA – you’re hired,” the restaurant said in a social media post (warning: the video included is explicit). “Please come in for a 20-minute shift. Your apron and grill tongs away you, the First Amendment is alive at Wiener Circle.”
In the now-viral moment, Crow-Armstrong had barely missed making a catch at Rate Field during the Sunday contest, slamming into the outfield wall and landing on the warning track.
After the play, a White Sox fan heckled him and Crow-Armstrong, in a moment captured in a social media video, screamed a series of profanities at her before walking away.
Monday at Wrigley Field, Crow-Armstrong said he regretted his choice of words in the incident.

“I’m just bummed out about the word choice and that a bunch of little kids go and probably find their way to social media and see that as well, but I am intense on the field and in a moment like that I let it get away from me a little bit. But again, poor word choice,” he said.
