
A 57-year-old woman was killed during a fatal boat accident at a popular area on Lake Geneva, Wisconsin officials confirmed.
The incident happened about 8 p.m. Thursday night in Fontana, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said. It comes just days after boating season in Lake Geneva began.
According to the Wisconsin DNR, a boat carrying three people was docking on Lake Geneva in Fontana when a 57-year-old female fell off and was struck by the boat. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
No other people were injured, officials said.
The circumstances surrounding the incident weren’t immediately clear. The DNR was working with the Fontana Police and the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.
