Regina Hall makes history as the first African American woman to win Best actress at the New Yorks Film Critics Circle after 83 years of voting. Regina Hall scored her first film role had come in 1999 with a small role in Malcolm D. Lee’s drama The Best Man.
Regina Hall allowed fans to see her longevity of acting and youthful beauty by doing the sequel to Scary Movie 2, where she played the role of a high-school character named Brenda Meeks.
Prior to Regina Hall becoming an actress she graduated from Fordham University in 1992, and went on to earn a master’s degree in journalism from New York University. Then after she took a leap of faith scoring big in the acting community. Her success landed her more roles in films like “The Other Brother”, featuring Hall as Vicki and only one year later, she starred in the action-drama “Paid in Full”, directed by Charles Stone III.
Regina Hall scored big with Steve Harvey playing in “Think Like A Man” along side Gabrielle Union, Meagan Good, Taraji P Henson, and Wendy Williams. If 5hat was not enough of the girl gang, Regina Hall gave us more recently killing box offices with “Girls Trip”.
While the “Girls Trip”movie was one of the best movies in 2017, Regina Hall’s career did not cap out there. Her
performance in “Support the Girls” netted her Best Actress laurels. This movie made Regina Hall the first black woman to be honored in the NYFCC’s 83-year history.
