The Chicago area is set for a lovely Sunday, and warmer weather could be on the way within the next week.
According to the latest forecasts from the NBC 5 Storm Team, Sunday should be partly-to-mostly sunny across the area, though some clouds could drift in from the north as the afternoon moves along.
Some breezy conditions are also expected, which could help keep temperatures on the cool side near Lake Michigan.
The rest of the area will see high temperatures in the mid-60s, meaning most of the region will be a pleasant Mother’s Day.
Monday will also see plenty of sunshine, but breezes will shift a bit out of the northeast, dropping temperatures along Lake Michigan into the upper-40s or perhaps the low-50s. Elsewhere, temperatures are expected to settle right around 60 degrees, but warmer readings are certainly going to be on the way.
The area will get a bit of a false start on that front Tuesday, with highs soaring into the 70s, albeit with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, according to the NBC 5 Storm Team.
Temperatures will dip back into the low-to-mid 60s for Wednesday, but then they’ll once again begin to climb, getting back into the upper-70s by Friday and then even into the 80s by next weekend.
