A high wind warning has been issued in the Chicago area ahead of another evening of strong-to-severe thunderstorms.
According to the National Weather Service, the warning will last until 4 p.m. in Cook, DuPage, Kendall, Grundy and Will counties.
The alert warns area residents of winds gusting in excess of 60 miles per hour, which could cause tree damage and damage to structures, officials say.
Those winds could also cause travel issues on Metra trains, and power outages are also possible, especially with more than 100,000 ComEd customers still without power across the Chicago area. We will update this story with details as they become available
