The Mayor of New York City, USA has declared a state of emergency in his area due to severe and historic flooding.
Mayor Bill de Blasio in a tweet, says “I’m declaring a state of emergency in New York City tonight.”
“We’re enduring an historic weather event tonight with record breaking rain across the city, brutal flooding and dangerous conditions on our roads,” he added.
Videos sighted by African Entertainment on Twitter and Instagram show the tracks at Woodhaven Boulevard subway station in Queens, completely covered with flood water.
Other videos water flooding a city bus, with passengers standing on the seats while the driver appears to navigate the bus through a flooded road.
Reports say NYPD has warned New Yorkers to expect delays in all major crossings and road closures.
African Entertainment understands that a flash flood watch is in eeffect in New York City until 2 p.m. Thursday.

The RevoltTV reported on Instagram that all subway services have been suspended because of the flooding.
