Willie Wilson is providing his own source of stimulus to workers who lost their jobs due to covid 19. The first African American McDonald’s franchise owner will be donating 100 dollars to 10,000 misplaced workers.
Willie Wilson has been a a positive Chicago legend, opening his first franchise in the city in the 1970’s. He sold all of his restaurants in the 1980s and then launch a gospel music career singing with the Norfleet Brothers.
Not only is he helping misplaced workers but he is also the president and CEO of Omar Medical Supplies, one of America’s largest distributors of disposable products for use in medical, industrial and food service areas.
On behalf of the Willie Wilson foundation funds will be distributed through Venmo, in order to follow covid 19 social distancing guidelines.
Wilson stated, “Folks are anxious. Folks are afraid, and their future is uncertain. We’re all in this together. So, we must pull together. [In] just a small way I can help bridge the gap until the government steps up and does what’s right, quickly, for those in need. I am blessed to be able to do it.”
The legend has been aiding medical staff as well. He has donated 10,000 medical masks and 1,000 M95 masks to Chicago fire and police departments and plans to donate 100,000 more masks to the community for better protection against the coronavirus.
